A One of a Kind Artwork, Just for You!

I’d like to hire you for a custom artwork. How do I contact you?

What happens after I contact you?
There are multiple stages to each commission. I like to be thorough and make sure everything is clear and that we’ll work well together before you spend anything. It’s very important that you let me know as soon as possible if there’s a specific date you need the finished artwork.

Personal vs Commercial Artworks
The information below is for personal/non-commercial artworks only. For commercial work (book covers, spot illustrations, etc), please send me an email. The process is very similar, but there is a contract involved to protect both the client’s rights and mine.


The Process

Phase 1 – Ideas.
We talk about your idea/concept, the medium you would like (and that will suit your idea the best), the size of the artwork, the overall cost, payment and shipping methods and any other questions you may have. Once we agree on these options, we move onto:

Phase 2 – Sketching.
Based on your ideas, I’ll send you multiple thumbnails (small digital sketches) and we’ll discuss everything to make sure it looks the way you want. I’ll then do a more detailed (digital) sketch and once you approve this final sketch (see *Notes), we move onto:

Phase 3 – First payment.
The first payment will be half of the artwork cost (excluding shipping) and is non-refundable. This covers the time I’ve already spent working on your idea and any materials I need to purchase for your artwork (paint, canvas, paper, etc). Once this payment clears, I’ll start working on the artwork itself.

I’ll send you updates and progress photos regularly, so you can see it coming together. Once the artwork is finished, I’ll send you a clear photo and then we’re up to:

Phase 4 – Final payment and shipping.
After you send the final payment (including shipping), I will ship your artwork in the agreed upon shipping method, with tracking (where possible). I prefer to send artworks via Express post because for one thing, they arrive faster and secondly, there are more tracking options available.

How long will it take?
Custom artworks vary depending on the size, medium, how detailed the artwork is, how quickly we communicate and your chosen shipping method. As a general rule, the artworks themselves take between 3-6 weeks for completion, plus shipping.

Oil paintings take longer because they need to fully dry and require a coat of varnish before they’re ready to ship. This can take up to 3 months.

Watercolour & Coloured Pencil Artworks on Watercolour Paper:
8×10 inches: AU$275 (or A4)
11×14 inches: AU$425 (or A3)

Acrylic Paintings on Canvas:
8×10 inches: AU$325
9×12 inches: AU$400
11×14 inches: AU$475
12×16 inches: AU$550

Oil Paintings on Canvas:
8×10 inches: AU$375
9×12 inches: AU$450
11×14 inches: AU$525
12×16 inches: AU$600


Shipping, Import Tax, Payment Methods & Refunds

Do you ship worldwide?
I currently ship artworks to Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Canada.

Is shipping included in the above prices?
Shipping is an additional cost and varies depending on your location. I can give you an accurate cost once I know your country, state or postcode and the size of the artwork.

What about importing taxes/duties?
I ship from Australia and since every country is different, any import taxes/duties are the the responsibility of the client.

What payment methods do you accept?
For residents within Australia I accept EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), or PayPal. For international clients, I only accept PayPal.

Do you offer refunds?
I don’t offer refunds on custom artworks because they’re customized for an individual client and are not resalable if the client happens to change their mind part way through. To avoid any potential issues, I keep my clients updated at every stage of the creation process and I try to be as clear as possible concerning my terms, costs, etc.

And of course I’m more than happy to answer any questions you have about this process before, during and after completion.

YouTube & Online Display

Will you make a video of my  custom artwork? 
Yes  – unless you ask me not to. I enjoy filming artworks coming together and sharing my process with others on YouTube.

If your artwork is a gift, I won’t upload the video until after the recipient has received the original.

Will you show my custom artwork online?
Yes – unless you ask me not to. I display artworks on my website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.

If your artwork is a gift, I won’t upload the image until after the recipient has received the original.


Privacy Policy

I will not sell, rent or give your information to a third party. Your information will be stored with the greatest of care and as securely as possible. Your information will only be used for the purposes of contacting you during the process of creating your artwork, receiving payments and shipping of your artwork.

No major changes are possible after the final sketch is approved, small adjustments may be acceptable, but depend on the artwork, medium used and the kind of changes requested. There may be an additional cost.

It’s best to let me know before approving the final sketch if you require something changed – it’ll save both of us unnecessary problems!
